What we collect
Email address: when you create an account, contact us, apply as a venue, promoter or reporter
Username, display name, bio and optional social links: when you create and customise your profile
Gender: optional, used only to display aggregate statistics (e.g. "15 female, 10 male going"). Never exposed individually to other users without your consent
Event participation: when you mark yourself as attending an event ("Going")
Approximate location: only when you request location-based results. We do not store precise GPS coordinates
Push notification preferences: stored on your device only
What we do not collect
We do not sell your data to any third party
We do not track you across other websites

We do not serve advertising based on your personal data
We do not collect facial recognition data or biometric identifiers
How we use your data
Your email is used for account authentication, password recovery, account security and communications you have requested. We do not use your email for unsolicited marketing.
Public profiles
If you create a Xalo account and set your profile to Public, information such as your username, display name, avatar, bio and public event activity may be visible to other users and visitors at xalo.au/u/[username]. You may change your profile to Private or update your information at any time through your account settings.
Event participation visibility
When you mark yourself as attending ("Going") an event, your public profile information, including username and avatar, may be visible to other users viewing that event. If your profile is set to Private, your participation will not be shown publicly.
Account deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing privacy@xalo.au. We will process your request within 30 days in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988.
Event photography
Event photographs may be submitted by approved reporters, photographers or partners attending public events. Photos are reviewed before publication. If you appear in a photo and wish it removed, email photos@xalo.au.

Cookies and local storage
Xalo uses essential cookies and browser local storage required for site functionality (session management, preferences, cached event data). No third-party tracking or advertising cookies are used. If this changes, this policy will be updated.
By using Xalo you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
Xalo displays event, venue, area and city activity information from third party APIs, public datasets, partner submissions and Xalo curated sources for Melbourne, Australia. We do not sell tickets directly and are not responsible for the events listed.
Accounts
You must be 18 years or older to create an account. By creating an account you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Xalo does not currently verify age at signup. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Notify us immediately at contact@xalo.au if you suspect unauthorised access.
Usernames and public profiles
Your username is your unique public identity on Xalo. You may not use a username that impersonates another person, is offensive, or violates third party rights. Xalo reserves the right to reclaim usernames that are inactive, misleading or in violation of these terms. Public profiles are visible to all visitors at xalo.au/u/[username]. You may set your profile to Private at any time through account settings.
User generated content
By submitting content to Xalo (including profile information, bio, event participation), you grant Xalo a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content on the platform. You retain ownership of your content. You are solely responsible for the accuracy of information you submit. You agree not to submit content that is false, misleading, defamatory, illegal or that violates the rights of others.
User conduct
You agree not to use the service for any unlawful purpose
You agree not to scrape, copy or redistribute our content without permission
You agree not to impersonate another person or entity
You agree not to attempt to circumvent security measures or access systems you are not authorised to use
You agree not to harass, abuse or harm other users
Account suspension and removal
Xalo reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse, or are used for fraudulent purposes. Users affected by account suspension may contact contact@xalo.au to appeal.
Event information accuracy
Event details are sourced from Ticketmaster, Eventfinda, curated Xalo discovery links and City of Melbourne Open Data. We aim for accuracy but cannot guarantee all details are current. Always verify with the event organiser before attending.
Promoter content
Xalo may display full-screen promotional content from paid event promoters on site entry. Users can skip this content at any time. Xalo is not responsible for the accuracy of promoter-supplied content.
Event photography
Event photographs may be submitted by approved Xalo reporters and photographers attending public events. Content is reviewed before publication. Reporters retain copyright. Xalo holds a non-exclusive licence to display submitted content. If you appear in a photo and wish it removed, email photos@xalo.au.
Limitation of liability
Xalo is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service, reliance on event information, or attendance at any event.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Xalo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
